Omega Paw Self-Cleaning Litter Box Review
Lucy took some time to get accustomed to this litter box. She went inside and it looked like probably she was just investigating the new poop-box of her. You know what, Lucy likes her pallet litter box so much and it takes a while for her to trust new things! I am going to review this product which will cover even the tiniest detail, pros, cons, and my final opinion.
A Little Insight
Omega Paw litter box has two main body parts, one is the base of the litter box and the other one is its top cover. It is a non-electrical-Roll-&-Clean kind of self-cleaning cat litter box. On unboxing, you will find out that the main body parts come as one fitted into another one to reduce the package size.
The package contains:
- Scoop that fits in the litter box
- Filter tray
- A Bottom of the rolling box
- A top lid of the rolling box
- The user manual
The setting up of this product is very easy. Set the bottom of the rolling box on the floor and fill it with the clumping silica litter. Make sure the litter doesn’t exceed the grating and then, slide the filter tray inside the bottom part of the litter box. Further, put the top part of the litter box on the bottom appropriately and slide the clips to fasten both the parts tightly. You will see the place to put in the scoop which collects the clumped waste when cleaning job is over.
How to Use Omega Paw Self-Cleaning Litter Box?
It is quite easy to use this cat litter box. You need to place this poop box after setting it up where there is an ample room so that the box can be rolled on the floor. If you are planning to put it in the corner where you can not roll the box upside down, then you should make some space over there.
In addition to this, you need to should choose the place which is easily cleanable. The litter tracking is very much high in the case of silica clumping type litter. When your kitty is done with her business inside the box you can start cleaning it up.
First, facing from the front of the litter box, roll it in a clockwise sense. By doing so, all the cat litter will fall below the litter filter tray and the clumped part will remain on the filter.
Second, again roll the litter box in clockwise sense till the box top is completely in touch with the floor. This time the clumped litter would go in the compartment over the poop scoop.
Third, now turn it in the reverse sense so as the cat litter box comes into in its normal position. Here two different things will happen. The clumped feces would fall in the poop scoop and the silica litter would flow through the filter tray and will come into the bottom part of the box.
Furthermore, You should move it a bit in a counterclockwise sense. That will allow the litter to level uniformly and the litter retained under the filter would come out.
You can slide out the poop scoop and dump it in the trash or whatever method you are using to dispose of the cat litter.
Possibly, the salient features and its user-friendly experience is the reason why this product is on Amazon’s best selling products.
Self-cleaning is the key feature of this product. You know what, the best thing about this product is you do not take a scooper and scoop out the treasure your cat has buried inside. All it needs is an oscillation, and the gravity would complete the rest of the job.
2. Super Easy To Use
Set up would take a bit more time but it is not complicated at all. Once you set up the box, it is ready to use right from then. To collect out the clumped waste from scoper, you need to roll it to right and back again.
3. No Power Supply Required
This litter box is not automatic and hence, does not need electricity to operate. The gravitational force separates out the clumped litter.
4. Filter Grill to Separate Clumped Waste From The Litter
The patented filter grill it comes with can efficiently collect your kitty’s fecal waste and let the unused litter pass through it. It is durable and does not easily get worn out by cat paws.
How Much Will It Cost You?
The price of the Omega Paw self-cleaning litter box is quite lower than those of automatic ones. However, if you compare the price of this product with other litter boxes with the similar features, the cost is more or less the same.
In addition to this, you just need to change the litter regularly when you believe it is time to change it. Hence, the running and maintenance cost is not a big issue with this litter box.
Obviously, a green signal for the people who can take out some time to collect and dump their kitty’s poop every day.
Omega Paw self-cleaning litter box is available in two different sizes; a regular one and a large one. You can buy a large cat litter box if you own two or more cats or your cat is a big beast.
The large one is also available in the packs of three and five. A pack of three gives you a free omega paw cleaning litter mat and similarly, you will get 2 of it with the pack of 5 litter boxes.
|Size||Dimensions||Unit Weight||Shipping Weight|
|Regular||18 x 18 x 20 inches||4.65 pounds||4.7 pounds|
|Large||23.5 x 21.2 x 10.5 inches||7.6 pounds||10.4 pounds|
Summarizing all the pros and cons, I personally prefer to use this product as it is worthy to spend just a little on avoiding the ado of managing those conventional litter boxes.
